A training aircraft from the Rawalpindi Flying Club made an emergency crash landing in Gujar Khan tehsil due to a technical fault, injuring the male pilot and the female trainee pilot on board.
The aircraft experienced engine failure during the flight, prompting the pilot to demonstrate remarkable presence of mind and skill by landing the plane in nearby fields. While the aircraft avoided complete destruction, both occupants sustained minor injuries.
Authorities confirmed that the incident involved a training aircraft from the Rawalpindi Flying Club, carrying only the pilot and the trainee pilot at the time of the crash. Both individuals were provided immediate medical assistance and transferred to a hospital, where their condition is reported to be stable and out of danger.
The Airport Authority and relevant agencies have initiated an investigation to determine the nature of the engine failure and other technical aspects. Preliminary reports suggest the incident was caused by a technical malfunction.
Local residents praised the pilot’s timely decision, which ensured no loss of life or injury to anyone on the ground. The safe landing is being hailed as a stroke of fortune.
