Moscow: During a technology event in Moscow, Russia’s first artificial intelligence-powered humanoid robot AIDOL fell on stage just moments after stepping out at its inaugural unveiling.
According to reports, a large crowd of enthusiasts and media was present at the robot’s launch, which was made particularly engaging with the use of the “Rocky” theme song. However, within seconds, the robot lost balance and collapsed on stage.
As the humanoid robot fell, organizers quickly lifted it and attempted to conceal it behind a black curtain to protect it and avoid further embarrassment in front of nearly 50 attending journalists.
Organizers stated that the incident occurred due to calibration issues with the robot and the effects of stage lighting, which caused it to lose balance during the event.
It should be noted that this was an inauspicious start for Russia, as the country is entering the international competition for AI-powered human-like robots. The incident highlighted that some technical challenges may arise in the early stages of such robots, but organizers said they will prepare better for future events.
