Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has signed the 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill into law, following its approval by both the National Assembly and the Senate. With the President’s assent, the amendment has now officially become part of the Constitution of Pakistan.

Sources indicate that the primary objective of the amendment is to further clarify the distribution of powers between the federation and the provinces, while introducing improvements to certain administrative provisions.

Through this amendment, changes have been made to select sections of the Constitution to make the parliamentary system more effective and ensure transparency in the legislative process.

Legal experts believe this amendment will play a significant role in strengthening the constitutional framework of the country.
