Pakistan’s most decorated tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq bid an emotional farewell to professional tennis after contesting his last match in the men’s doubles final of the ATP Challenger Cup in Islamabad on Sunday.

Partnering Muzammil Murtaza, Aisam lost in straight sets to the opposing pair in what was officially his career’s final appearance on court. He had announced his retirement plans earlier during the tournament’s opening ceremony.

Speaking after the match, an emotional Aisam congratulated the winning pair and expressed deep gratitude to his family and supporters throughout his journey.

Currently serving as President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, he promised to continue working for the development of young players and hailed the successful hosting of an ATP event in Pakistan as a major milestone.

Aisam ends his illustrious career as Pakistan’s most successful tennis player ever:

  • 18 ATP World Tour titles
  • 28 ATP Challenger titles
  • 17 ITF Futures doubles & 5 ITF singles titles
  • 1 ATP Challenger singles title
  • Most Davis Cup wins (singles, doubles & overall) for Pakistan

Spectators and fellow players gave the 45-year-old legend a standing ovation and heartfelt tributes as he left the court for the final time.
