Pakistan has won the ODI series against Sri Lanka by defeating them in the second match. Babar Azam scored a magnificent century and was named Player of the Match.
In the match played in Rawalpindi, Sri Lanka posted 288/8 in their 50 overs. Pakistan chased down the 289-run target with 2 wickets in hand.
Babar Azam smashed 102 runs, becoming the second Pakistani to score 20 ODI centuries, equaling Saeed Anwar’s long-standing record. Mohammad Rizwan contributed 51, while Fakhar Zaman scored 79 and Saim Ayub made 33—both dismissed by Chameera. Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field.
For Sri Lanka, Janith Liyanage top-scored with 54, followed by Samarawickrama (42) and Mendis (44). Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed and Haris Rauf took three wickets each, with one Sri Lankan batter run out.
Two changes were made to the playing XI. Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi was rested due to illness, with Salman Ali Agha leading the side.
Wasim Junior and Abrar Ahmed replaced Shaheen and Fahim Ashraf. Team management stated that resting Shaheen was necessary, while the inclusion of Wasim Junior and Abrar strengthened the bowling attack.
