Karachi: New gas reserves have been discovered in Sindh’s Jamshoro district.

Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has confirmed the discovery of new gas reserves in the Kotri Block No. 1, located in Jamshoro district, Sindh. This breakthrough occurred during the drilling of the Birki-1 well.

According to the report, PPL initiated drilling on July 21. The well was drilled to a depth of 3,392 feet, where the presence of hydrocarbons was confirmed.

Initially, the well produced 1.5 million cubic feet of gas per day. To enhance the gas flow, acid stimulation treatment was applied, increasing production to 5.5 million cubic feet per day. Currently, the well is supplying gas at a pressure exceeding 460 pounds per square inch.
