Islamabad, October 9, 2025 – Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has transformed identity document issuance with its Pak-ID mobile application, eliminating the need for citizens to visit offices for Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and other services. Now upgraded for 2025, the app offers end-to-end digital solutions, including biometric verification, real-time tracking, and secure payments via debit/credit cards, making it the nation’s most trusted public service platform.

NADRA spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali told Samaa News that the app has processed over 1.2 million applications in just three months, with more than 10 crore downloads to date. Users can submit requests for CNIC renewals, modifications, NICOP, POC, B-Forms, and Family Registration Certificates directly from smartphones, bypassing traditional queues. “It’s a game-changer for accessibility, especially in remote areas,” Ali said, noting a 45% surge in digital submissions and daily handling of over 10,000 cases.

Launched in 2021 under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Digital Pakistan vision, the app now integrates QR codes for digital ID access and supports overseas Pakistanis with seamless uploads. New regional centers in AJK, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan, opening by March 2025, will complement home delivery options. Fees remain unchanged, with bilingual interfaces ensuring ease for all users.

As NADRA phases out the old Pak-ID web portal by January 17, 2025, the app’s success underscores Pakistan’s push toward fraud-proof, inclusive digital governance—empowering citizens from bustling cities to far-flung villages.
