Billionaire industrialist Elon Musk has accused Apple of limiting competition for artificial intelligence companies. Musk, who owns Tesla and social media platform X, made the allegations in a post on his X account.

He claimed that Apple is promoting only OpenAI in the App Store. Musk called this a “clear violation” of antitrust laws. He alleged that Apple is acting in a way that prevents any AI company other than OpenAI from becoming number one on the App Store.

Musk announced that his AI company, xAI, will take immediate legal action. However, he did not provide evidence to support his claims.

Apple, OpenAI, and xAI have not yet commented on the matter. International media outlets also reported no official response from any of the parties involved.

According to Indian broadcaster NDTV, ChatGPT is currently the top free app in the U.S. App Store. Market research firm Sensor Tower says ChatGPT also holds the top position on the Google Play Store.

Musk’s AI chatbot Grok is ranked fifth on the App Store. Google’s Gemini is placed 57th.

Reports indicate Apple has a partnership with OpenAI. Under this deal, ChatGPT is integrated into iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers.

Musk’s accusations come amid increasing scrutiny of big tech companies over competition and market dominance in the AI sector. Legal experts say proving such antitrust violations could be challenging without solid evidence.

Earlier, GPT-5 brings major leaps in reasoning, memory, and real-world task handling. Unlike before, it doesn’t just answer questions — it interprets, evaluates, and can even perform actions for you. It breaks down complex prompts, processes multiple ideas in parallel, and delivers smarter, more honest responses. OpenAI reports GPT-5’s hallucination (error) rate has plummeted to just 4.8%, compared to over 20% in GPT-4.

Developers will love its new “vibe coding” feature, where you describe a mood or feeling and GPT-5 outputs fully functional HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — making idea-to-code faster than ever.
