Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Sunday formally launched the second phase of the ambitious Lahore Development Plan.
Presiding over a high-level meeting, the CM was given a detailed briefing on Lahore Development Plan Phase-II, after which she issued necessary directives to concerned departments.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, a new era of development has begun in Lahore under which a total of 6,284 streets across the city will be completely upgraded. This includes 486 streets under WASA and 5,798 streets under Lahore Municipal Corporation, all scheduled to be transformed into modern, world-class lanes by June 2026.
A phase-wise monthly work plan was presented in the meeting to ensure every neighbourhood of Lahore becomes well-lit and vibrant.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif strictly directed that there will be no compromise on quality and no delay will be tolerated in the completion of Phase-II.
“The every corner of Lahore will be freed from dilapidation and made dignified for citizens. With the upgradation of more than 6,000 streets, every locality will become a symbol of pride for residents,” the Chief Minister stated.
