The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest men’s player rankings across formats, with India’s Rohit Sharma surging to the top of the ODI batting list for the first time in his career, while Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan notched a notable rise in T20Is.

India retains the No. 1 spot in the ODI team rankings, followed by New Zealand (2nd), Australia (3rd), Sri Lanka (4th), and Pakistan (5th).

In ODI batting, Sharma, 38, displaced teammate Shubman Gill after his unbeaten 121 in Sydney against Australia, reaching 781 points – the oldest to claim the summit. Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran holds 2nd (764), with Gill at 3rd (745). Pakistan’s Babar Azam remains 4th.

ODI bowlers see Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan at No. 1, South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj 2nd, and Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana 3rd.

Shifting to T20Is, India’s Abhishek Sharma stays atop the batters’ list, with England’s Phil Salt 2nd and Tilak Varma 3rd. Sahibzada Farhan climbed one spot to 11th, rewarding his consistent top-order contributions in recent series.

T20I bowlers: India’s Varun Chakravarthy leads, West Indies’ Akeal Hosein is 2nd, and Rashid Khan rose to 3rd. Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed slipped one place to 8th.

In Tests, Pakistan captain Shan Masood jumped five spots to 42nd after a solid knock, while Mohammad Rizwan dropped five to 21st. Spinner Noman Ali fell one position from 2nd to 3rd, behind India’s Jasprit Bumrah (1st) and New Zealand’s Matt Henry (2nd).

Notably, Babar Azam has equaled Shahid Afridi’s unwanted record for most ducks in ODI chases (7 each), drawing attention amid Pakistan’s inconsistent white-ball form.
