October 11, 2025 – Web Desk Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has confirmed receiving the resignation of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
The resignation was delivered to Governor Kundi today by Brigadier (Retd) Musaddiq Abbasi, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Anti-Corruption. Abbasi handed over the letter to the caretaker at the Governor’s House, who acknowledged receipt and issued a formal acknowledgment, timestamped at 2:30 PM.
Governor Kundi stated that the handwritten resignation from the Chief Minister was received at 2:30 PM today, dated October 11. He added that the resignation will undergo verification and fulfillment of all legal requirements before formal processing.
“My legal team will review the resignation for constitutional and legal aspects, and a decision will be made accordingly after thorough examination,” Kundi remarked.
In the resignation letter, Ali Amin Gandapur stated: “I confirm that I have resigned as Chief Minister and have done so on the basis of loyalty.”
The development follows Gandapur’s initial announcement on October 8, 2025, where he stepped down on directives from PTI founder Imran Khan, citing provincial challenges including financial instability and terrorism threats. PTI has nominated MPA Sohail Afridi as his successor, with the KP Assembly scheduled to convene on October 13 to elect the new chief minister.
