Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced Saturday that Iran will rebuild its nuclear facilities “with greater strength” if they are destroyed, insisting the program is purely civilian and aimed at public health needs like disease treatment.

Speaking to state media during a visit to the Atomic Energy Organization, Pezeshkian said: “Destroying buildings and factories will not create a problem for us; we will rebuild them stronger.” He reiterated that Iran’s nuclear efforts are stored in scientists’ minds and will persist despite threats.

This echoes his recent weeks’ statements: Even if sites are bombed, Iran can reconstruct them swiftly. The comments come after U.S. President Donald Trump warned of fresh strikes on facilities hit in June’s U.S.-led attacks, which Washington claims targeted a weapons program—claims Tehran denies.

Pezeshkian stressed: “All these programs are for solving people’s problems, for treating diseases and for the health of society.” Iran maintains its uranium enrichment is for energy and medicine, not bombs.

The June strikes, joined by Israel in a 12-day conflict, caused “serious and severe” damage per Iranian officials, though full extent is unclear. Oman urged resumed U.S.-Iran talks via indirect channels, but Tehran shows no interest amid escalating rhetoric.
