Photo-sharing platform Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri, has announced the start of a test for a new menu bar featuring a rearranged tab layout.

According to a foreign news agency, the updated menu bar includes dedicated tabs for two of the app’s most popular features: Reels and DMs. Selected users participating in the test will have their existing menu bar replaced with this new layout.

In the redesigned interface, the Search tab will swap places with Reels, and the Create tab (for posting new content) will be replaced by the DMs tab.

Meta has included an option in this test to toggle between the two tab arrangements.

The announcement of this test suggests that adapting to such changes may take time, which is why the new layout remains optional for now.
