Social media giant Instagram has unveiled an exciting initiative, announcing awards for 25 of its most creative users as part of its new “Rings” program. The move celebrates the platform’s vibrant community amidst its 300 million active users worldwide.
According to a statement from the foreign news agency, Instagram will honor these selected individuals with a unique physical ring, expertly designed by renowned English designer Grace Wales Bonner. Alongside the ring, each winner will receive an exclusive golden ring filter for their Instagram profile and Stories, adding a distinctive flair to their content. Additionally, these users will gain the ability to customize their profile background color to their liking, with their posts prominently featured in a dedicated spotlight and feed section within the app.
Eva Chen, Head of Fashion Partnerships at Instagram, emphasized the purpose behind the awards: “This recognition is crafted to honor those who seize creative opportunities on our platform. These individuals are cultural catalysts.” She highlighted the diversity of Instagram’s 3 billion-strong community, reflecting a billion unique interests. “Narrowing down the longlist of candidates to just 25 was a challenging process, but our judging panel sought individuals who embrace creativity and connect with their audiences through innovative approaches,” Chen added.
The “Rings” judging panel is a star-studded lineup, including Eva Chen, Grace Wales Bonner, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, director Spike Lee, rugby star Ellona Maher, makeup artist Pat McGrath, designer Marc Jacobs, actress Yara Shahidi, and artist Kaz.
This initiative underscores Instagram’s commitment to fostering creativity and rewarding those who shape its cultural landscape, promising a fresh wave of inspiration for its global audience.
