The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to multiple authorities in response to a petition seeking a ban on entry in inappropriate attire and the making of videos inside Faisal Mosque.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of the IHC heard the case filed by a citizen who appeared in court along with his lawyer.

The court inquired about whom directions should be issued in this regard. The lawyer stated that the in-charge of Faisal Mosque and other relevant parties have been named as respondents. He highlighted that viral videos on social media show individuals filming indecent content within the mosque premises.

The petitioner argued that making videos in improper clothing inside the mosque premises violates the sanctity of the mosque and infringes on the right to religious freedom. He revealed that written complaints were sent to the mosque in-charge, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), but no action was taken.

The petition further noted that similar complaints were forwarded to the Minister of Religious Affairs, President of the International Islamic University, and Inspector General (IG) of Police Islamabad. It urged the court to impose a ban on entry in inappropriate attire and the creation of videos involving dancing and music.

Subsequently, the court issued notices to the in-charge of Faisal Mosque, DC Islamabad, Chairman CDA, Ministry of Religious Affairs, President of the International Islamic University, and IG Police Islamabad, seeking their responses.
