Google has greeted users worldwide with a stunning new doodle on December 1, 2025, titled Seasonal Holidays 2025. The artwork features the iconic Google logo wrapped in colourful twinkling festive lights, instantly evoking the warmth and excitement of the holiday season.

The doodle celebrates multiple festivals observed in December including Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and New Year, making it a truly inclusive tribute. By focusing on shared themes of light, joy, and togetherness rather than any single tradition, Google continues its tradition of promoting global harmony during the festive period. The doodle will appear periodically throughout December and on key celebration dates.

The concept of Google Doodles began in 1998 when founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin playfully modified the logo to indicate they were attending the Burning Man festival. The first international doodle marked Bastille Day in 2000, and the first animated doodle appeared that same year for Halloween. Since then, doodles have become a beloved way to honour cultural moments, historical figures, and seasonal events worldwide.

Google also runs the annual Doodle for Google competition, the world’s longest-running student art contest that encourages creativity among K-12 students.

The new festive lights doodle has already spread cheer across millions of devices, perfectly capturing the magic of December celebrations.
