Islamabad: The federal cabinet has approved the draft of the 27th Constitutional Amendment. Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar told media that the bill will be presented in the Senate today.

The amendment includes provisions for establishing a constitutional court, removing provinces’ fixed share in the NFC Award, returning powers over education and population planning to the federation, judge transfers, and restoring executive magistrates.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired the meeting via video link from Baku. The opposition has announced protests against the amendment.
