Quetta: The Balochistan government has approved plans for a dedicated juvenile prison in Quetta to protect and rehabilitate underage inmates.

The Prisons Department said the facility will separate young offenders from adults, with construction starting soon at a cost of Rs750 million. An interim setup will be ready on Saryab Road for immediate transfers.

The modern jail, near Central Prison, will feature a school and vocational training center. Officials stressed this step ensures safety and reform for minors.
