Babar Azam becomes Pakistan’s second-highest catcher

Surpasses Shahid Afridi with 170 catches; also claims Pakistan’s all-time T20 catching record

Babar Azam added yet another feather to his cap during the tri-nation series final against Sri Lanka, overtaking Shahid Afridi to become the Pakistani player with the second-most catches in international cricket.

With three catches in the match — including that of Kusal Mendis — Babar reached 170 international catches, moving past Afridi’s tally of 167. Younis Khan remains at the top with 281 catches, followed by Inzamam-ul-Haq (194).

In the same game, Babar also claimed Pakistan’s all-time T20 catching record, taking his T20I catches to 60 and going past Fakhar Zaman (57) and Shoaib Malik (50).

Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka in the final to lift the tri-nation series trophy.
