Lahore: A Metro Bus met with an accident near Azadi Chowk on Monday morning, prompting a temporary suspension of services in the affected section.
Officials from the Punjab Masstransit Authority confirmed that the bus collided with fencing along the track, likely due to a technical glitch or driver error, though investigations are underway. The incident occurred during peak hours, but swift response from on-site teams ensured all passengers were safely evacuated without any reported injuries.
Following the mishap, the Metro Bus service has been halted between MAO College and Shahdara to allow for safety checks and repairs. Commuters are advised to opt for alternative transport options, such as the Orange Line or feeder buses, until full restoration, expected by evening.
