Islamabad: WhatsApp has introduced a long-awaited multi-account support feature for iPhone users, allowing them to manage two separate phone numbers on the same device without logging in and out or relying on workarounds like WhatsApp Business.
The update, spotted in iOS beta version 25.34.10.72 via TestFlight, creates a dedicated “Account List” section in the settings menu. Users can add a second account – whether a new number, an existing one, or a companion profile via QR code – and switch effortlessly with gestures like a double-tap on the settings tab or long-press for quick access.
Each account maintains its own chat history, notifications, profile settings, and privacy controls, ensuring complete separation. Notifications will clearly indicate which account is receiving a message, and security is bolstered by integration with Face ID or Touch ID for app lock.
This is particularly handy for professionals juggling personal and work communications, eliminating the need for extra devices or apps. The feature is currently limited to select beta testers in specific regions, with a full public rollout expected by December 2025 or January 2026.
Android users have enjoyed this since earlier this year, and WhatsApp’s move signals a push for platform parity. Beta feedback highlights its potential to streamline daily use, though some note minor glitches like call history merging in the iPhone’s native app.
