Rawalpindi: The two-week bilateral military exercise Shaheen Strike-2 between Pakistan Army Special Forces and Indonesian National Armed Forces successfully concluded at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Pabbi, with both sides declaring all training objectives fully achieved.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the closing ceremony was graced by a senior General Officer from Pakistan as chief guest, while a high-level delegation of Indonesian military officials represented their country.
The exercise focused on refining tactics, techniques, and procedures for counter-terrorism operations, with special emphasis on urban combat scenarios and counter-IED (improvised explosive device) operations. Troops from both nations demonstrated exceptional professionalism and operational synergy throughout the drills.
ISPR stated that Shaheen Strike-2 not only enhanced combat readiness against terrorism but also significantly strengthened the long-standing defence ties between Pakistan and Indonesia. The joint training underscored the mutual commitment of both armed forces to regional peace and security.
This marks the second iteration of the exercise, further cementing the growing military-to-military cooperation between the two brotherly Muslim nations. Both sides expressed keen interest in expanding such exchanges in the future.
