Islamabad: Pakistan has successfully developed its first completely indigenous, ultra-secure mobile phone that is immune to hacking, data theft, and remote surveillance, officials announced today.
Built under a pilot project of the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC), the device has been specially engineered for use by government and security officials. Both its hardware and software have been designed and manufactured entirely within Pakistan.
Key security features:
- No internet connectivity whatsoever
- Runs on a custom-built Pakistani operating system
- All apps developed locally
- Supports SIM cards from any local telecom operator
- No cloud backup or data-sync features – making data extraction impossible even if the phone is stolen or compromised
- Communication cannot be monitored, intercepted, or traced
NTC officials stated that the absence of any external connection points and the removal of backup functionality ensure “absolute protection” for sensitive official communication.
The breakthrough marks a major milestone in Pakistan’s push for technological self-reliance and cyber sovereignty, especially at a time when foreign-manufactured devices are increasingly seen as security liabilities for state institutions.
Mass production plans and exact rollout timelines for government departments are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
