Arshad Nadeem is back at the very top. The Olympic champion clinched gold in the men’s javelin throw at the Islamic Solidarity Games with a best mark of 83.05 metres, while compatriot Muhammad Yasir took silver with 74.43 metres to complete a memorable Pakistani double.

Nadeem’s series: 75.44m, 83.05m, 82.48m, 77.06m, foul, pass. Yasir’s best came in his second attempt at 74.43m.

Speaking after the win, an emotional Nadeem said he was overjoyed to return from injury and thanked the nation for its prayers. “Allah ka shukar hai ke Islamic Solidarity Games mein gold medal jeet saka,” he added.

The result marks Pakistan’s biggest athletics highlight of the Games and signals that Arshad Nadeem, after a difficult 2025 recovery, remains a serious force heading into next year’s major championships.
