Goods transport fares from Lahore to various cities have been increased following the rise in diesel prices.
According to President Goods Transport Association Nabeel Mahmood Tariq, the fare from Lahore to Karachi has been raised from 100,000 rupees to 108,000, Lahore to Rawalpindi from 60,000 to 65,000, Lahore to Peshawar from 80,000 to 86,500, and Lahore to Quetta from 120,000 to 130,000 rupees.
Nabeel Mahmood Tariq stated that the fare increase is due to the rise in diesel prices and the construction of new toll plazas on highways.
He said that these measures are being taken to cover the increasing expenses of transporters.
