Lahore: Renewal offers and details of new franchise fees for Pakistan Super League franchises have surfaced, but Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen has not received any such offer.

The Pakistan Super League has confirmed that renewal offers and new franchise fees have been sent to “all satisfied franchises,” while a Sultans representative stated that their team did not receive the offer.

Some other franchises confirmed that the PSL management sent renewal offers following a meeting with owners on Thursday, giving the other five franchises the opportunity to retain ownership for the next ten years.

PSL Issues Tender for 2 New Teams; Which Cities Will Be Selected?

Sultans were invited to meetings regarding future schedules and operations but were not included in the meeting on financial matters. The longstanding dispute between Ali Tareen and the Pakistan Super League became evident when Tareen openly criticized the league for lack of transparency and communication.

Earlier, the Pakistan Super League threatened to blacklist him, after which Tareen released a sarcastic apology video in which he tore up the Pakistan Cricket Board notice; however, the PCB did not accept this apology.

All franchises must respond to the renewal offer within 10 days, and an increase of at least 25 percent in the annual franchise fee is expected.

This year, two new teams will be added to the Pakistan Super League, with the list of potential cities including Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, and Rawalpindi, from which two will be selected. The new eight-team edition of the Pakistan Super League will be held in April and May next year.
