Pakistan is set to host the International Conference on Applications of Space Science and Technology (ICAST-2025), with participation from 25 countries and major agreements expected.
According to details, the conference is being organized jointly by the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and the Institute of Space Technology (IST) from November 18 to 20.
Representatives from leading global organizations including IEEE, ICESCO, APSCO, ASNET, and NCJSA will attend ICAST 2025. A SUPARCO spokesperson stated that the central theme of the conference is the role of space science and technology in sustainable development, with special sessions on climate change, food security, disaster management, and sustainable infrastructure. The three-day event will feature 5 plenary sessions, 23 technical sessions, and 12 master classes. Additionally, a dedicated session will address the scientific, religious, and technical aspects of moon sighting (Ruyat-e-Hilal).
