Dhaka: Pakistan has kicked off the Hockey World Cup qualifying round with a commanding victory.

In the first match of the qualifier, Pakistan defeated hosts Bangladesh 8-2.

For Pakistan, Ahmad Nadeem and Afraz scored two goals each, while Captain Imad Butt, Ghazanfar Ali, Rana Waheed Ashraf, and Hanan Shahid contributed one goal apiece.

Bangladesh’s goals were scored by Huzaifa and Amirul Islam. The second match of the Pak-Bangladesh hockey series will be played on November 14, with the final match scheduled for November 16.
