Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued new guidelines to users regarding the acquisition of VPN services.

PTA stated that users can now directly obtain services from licensed VPN providers, eliminating the need to contact PTA for VPN registration.

According to PTA, the process of issuing licenses to VPN service providers has begun. VPN services will now fall under the Class Value Added Services (Data) license.

PTA mentioned that licensed companies include Alpha 3 Cubic, Zeta Byte, and Nixilium Tech. Vision Tech 360 and UKI Conic Solutions will also be issued licenses.

PTA further explained that VPN services will promote secure and legal online connectivity. Licensed VPNs can be used for legitimate and legal purposes.

PTA said that using unregistered VPNs increases cyber threats. The new system will improve digital security and data protection. The initiative aims to create a transparent and secure digital environment. Providing VPN services will help strengthen national cybersecurity.
