Colombo: Sri Lanka Cricket has announced Charith Asalanka as captain for both the upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan and the T20I tri-series involving Zimbabwe, with squads featuring a mix of seasoned stars and emerging talents.

Asalanka will lead the ODI side comprising Pathum Nissanka, Lahiru Udara, Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Kamindu Mendis, Janith Liyanage, Pavan Rathnayake, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay, Dushmantha Chameera, Asitha Fernando, Pramod Madushan, and Eshan Malinga.

The T20I squad includes Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka (vice-captain), Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, Kamil Mishara, Kamindu Mendis, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Janith Liyanage, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushan Hemantha, Dushmantha Chameera, Nuwan Thushara, Asitha Fernando, and Eshan Malinga.

Players like Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kamindu Mendis, Kamil Mishara, and Janith Liyanage feature in both squads, while Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Asitha Fernando, and Eshan Malinga also appear in both.

Lahiru Udara, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Pavan Rathnayake, Jeffrey Vandersay, and Pramod Madushan are limited to the ODI team, whereas Dasun Shanaka, Kusal Perera, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dushan Hemantha, and Nuwan Thushara will focus solely on T20Is.

The ODI series kicks off on November 11 in Rawalpindi, followed by the tri-series starting November 17 in Lahore. Sri Lanka departed for Pakistan on November 8, aiming to build on recent form despite injuries to key pacers like Matheesha Pathirana and Dilshan Madushanka
