Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari held a special meeting with Qatar’s Prime Minister, where both sides discussed strengthening bilateral ties, trade, investments, and regional issues.

The Qatari PM arrived at the hotel for the meeting, attended by First Lady Asifa Bhutto Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Pakistan’s Qatari ambassador.

President Zardari commended Qatar’s role against Israeli aggression and its humanitarian efforts. He also congratulated Qatar on successfully hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Qatari PM praised the bravery and defensive capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces in the recent Pak-India conflict and expressed confidence in Pakistan’s efforts for peace in Afghanistan.

Zardari invited Qatar to increase investments in Pakistan, especially in the stock exchange and energy sectors. The Qatari PM indicated plans to expand investments in the Pakistan Stock Exchange and take economic relations to a new level.

The meeting ended on a positive note.
