In a key meeting, Bangladesh’s Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser on Finance, Anes Al-Zaman Chaudhry, held talks with Pakistan’s Minister of State for Finance and Railways, Bilal Azhar Kayani, to strengthen bilateral economic and diplomatic relations.

The leaders discussed new opportunities for economic collaboration and accelerating partnerships for mutual growth. They agreed to expand cooperation in trade, energy, transport, and other economic sectors.

A major focus was restoring direct flights between the two nations to enhance public and business connectivity. Bangladesh Ambassador to Pakistan, Mohammad Iqbal Hussain Khan, also attended the meeting.

Both sides reaffirmed their firm commitment to closer economic and diplomatic ties, marking a revival of high-level economic dialogue after two decades. This follows the recent ninth session of the Bangladesh-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission in Dhaka, where officials signed pacts on agriculture, jute, IT, and energy.
