Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the Power Division to develop comprehensive and effective policy recommendations to enhance the country’s industrial production.

A review meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, was held to discuss the Power Division’s agenda on electricity generation and its reform initiatives. The Power Division briefed the Prime Minister on ongoing efforts to improve power production and its efficient utilization, as well as proposed reforms to support industrial and agricultural sectors.

The Prime Minister directed the Federal Ministry of Energy to devise a comprehensive strategy to leverage efficient power usage for increasing industrial and agricultural output. He also instructed the Power Division to prepare recommendations to facilitate investors and industrialists.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that providing maximum support to the agriculture and industrial sectors is among the government’s top priorities. He stressed the need to formulate policies to ensure the optimal and positive use of electricity generation to drive growth in these sectors. “The best use of power production can significantly boost industrial and agricultural productivity,” he stated.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Khan Leghari, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Division Ahad Khan Cheema, Adviser on Industry Haroon Akhtar, and other relevant government officials and stakeholders.
