Lahore, October 14, 2025 – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced the rollout of the EBiz portal, a groundbreaking digital platform designed to streamline business operations and attract investment in the province. In a post on social media platform X, she hailed it as a “revolutionary step” toward fostering ease of doing business, eliminating bureaucratic hurdles that have long plagued entrepreneurs.
The EBiz portal offers comprehensive online services, including permits, licenses, registrations, and land use conversions—all accessible from home or office without physical visits, delays, or red tape. “Businesses can now thrive in a transparent, efficient, and investor-friendly environment,” Maryam stated, emphasizing how the initiative aligns with her vision for a modern Punjab economy.
Developed under the Punjab Board’s Investment and Trade (PBIT) and in collaboration with the World Bank, EBiz integrates over 50 services from multiple departments like industries, urban planning, and revenue. Users can track applications in real-time, pay fees digitally, and receive approvals via e-signatures, slashing processing times from weeks to days. Pilot testing showed a 70% reduction in compliance costs for SMEs.
This launch builds on Punjab’s recent reforms, including tax incentives and SEZs, aiming to boost FDI amid Pakistan’s IMF-driven recovery. Business leaders welcomed it, with Lahore Chamber of Commerce President Kashif Anwar calling it “a game-changer for startups.” As digital adoption surges, EBiz positions Punjab as Pakistan’s most business-friendly province.
