Osaka, October 12, 2025 – Pakistan has clinched two prestigious international awards for its innovative pavilion at the ongoing Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, highlighting the nation’s cultural depth and creative prowess on the world stage. The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) presented the Bronze Award in the Exhibition Category during a special ceremony, recognizing the pavilion’s exceptional design and thematic execution. Muhammad Nasir, Director General of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and pavilion in-charge, received the honor on behalf of the team.

In a second triumph, the pavilion earned the Editors’ Choice Award from Exhibitor Online, a global authority that celebrates outstanding creativity, design, and cultural representation. The accolade praised Pakistan’s ability to weave a compelling narrative around its pink Himalayan rock salt theme—”Universe in a Grain of Salt”—transforming a modest 53-square-meter space into a mesmerizing journey of resilience, healing, and human connection.

Curated by acclaimed artist Noorjehan Bilgrami, the pavilion has drawn over 1.7 million visitors since the Expo’s April 13 opening, captivating Japanese locals and international guests with its architectural ingenuity, cultural diversity, and interactive exhibits. Despite its limited footprint, it has emerged as a “global crowd-puller,” promoting exports like the health-beneficial pink salt while aligning with the Expo’s theme of “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”

Nasir attributed the success to collective efforts, crediting Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan’s leadership, Commerce Secretary Jawad Paul, TDAP officials, and the theme committee. “This is the fruit of our team’s tireless dedication and Bilgrami’s visionary guidance, which reimagined Pakistan’s image anew,” he said.

As Expo 2025 winds down on October 13, Pakistan’s accolades—amid similar wins for pavilions like Poland’s and Saudi Arabia’s—affirm that vision, national spirit, and teamwork can propel the country to prominence in any arena.
