Kuala Lumpur (Dunya News): Pakistan’s junior hockey team kicked off the Sultan of Johor Cup in Malaysia on a high note, securing a commanding victory in their opening match.

The Green Shirts delivered a clinical performance, thrashing hosts Malaysia 7-2 at Taman Daya Hockey Stadium in Johor Bahru. Sufyan Khan was the standout performer, netting a brilliant hat-trick (3 goals) to play a pivotal role in the emphatic win.

Nadeem Khan added to the tally with a brace (2 goals), sealing Pakistan’s superiority on the pitch.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Mir Tariq Hussain Bugti and Secretary General Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali Khan congratulated the team on their dominant display and teamwork.

The young side will next face England tomorrow, before taking on arch-rivals India in a highly anticipated clash on October 14.

The 13th edition of the under-21 international invitational tournament, running from October 11 to 18, features six top teams: Pakistan, India, Australia, Great Britain, New Zealand, and hosts Malaysia.
