Islamabad: The Pakistan Army mounted a robust retaliation against unprovoked firing from Afghan forces along the Pak-Afghan border.
According to security sources, Pakistani troops delivered a swift and intense response to the Afghan aggression. Afghan forces initiated unprovoked gunfire in areas including Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral, and Baram Chah.
The objective of the firing appeared to be facilitating the cross-border movement of militants (referred to as “Khawarij” in official terminology). However, vigilant and prepared Pakistani border posts responded with rapid and overwhelming force. The Pakistan Army effectively targeted multiple Afghan positions.
Sources indicate that Pakistan’s timely action resulted in the destruction of several Afghan border posts. Consequently, dozens of Afghan soldiers and foreign militants were killed in the exchange.
Taliban forces abandoned several of their positions and fled, leaving behind scattered bodies.
It is noteworthy that this aggression from the Afghan side occurred while the Afghan Foreign Minister was on an official visit to India.
