Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a detailed schedule for the delimitation of constituencies in connection with the local government elections in Punjab.

According to the issued notification, all administrative preparations will be completed by October 12. Delimitation committees will prepare the preliminary list of constituencies from October 13 to 31.

The Election Commission stated that the preliminary list will be published on November 1, allowing the public and relevant stakeholders to submit their objections from November 2 to 16. Subsequently, the Delimitation Authority will decide on all objections by December 1.

The Commission mentioned that the final list of constituencies will be released on December 8 after the completion of all stages.

The Election Commission has clarified that all stages will be conducted with transparency and in accordance with rules and regulations to ensure fair and timely local government elections.

Sources indicate that the election schedule for local body polls is expected to be announced after the completion of the delimitation process, under which the process of electing local representatives will commence across the province.
