China has called on the United States to remove unfair tariffs to support smoother trade and help stabilize the global economy.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce shared this message in a recent statement. A spokesperson said the U.S. must take concrete steps, especially in soybean trade. China is the world’s largest buyer of soybeans and relies heavily on imports.

Tensions over tariffs have hurt trade between the two economic powers. In the past, China regularly bought large quantities of soybeans from the U.S. However, due to the ongoing tariff dispute, the situation has changed.

Now, China is shifting its focus. It has decided to purchase at least 10 cargoes of soybeans from Argentina instead. This change also comes after Buenos Aires removed export taxes on grain, making Argentine soybeans more attractive.

This move marks a major shift in global agricultural trade. It sends a clear message to Washington — trade partners are willing to change course if tariffs remain in place.

Moreover, Chinese officials stress that cooperation between the two largest economies is critical. High tariffs hurt not only both countries but also impact the global market.

Trade experts believe if the U.S. keeps pushing high tariffs, it could lose its major export markets, especially in agriculture.

China’s growing ties with other soybean-exporting countries show a long-term strategy. It aims to diversify supply and reduce dependence on any single partner.

Meanwhile, U.S. farmers may feel the pressure. Losing the Chinese market could lead to price drops and reduced demand.

As global economic uncertainty continues, countries like China are looking for reliable trade partners. Beijing’s latest message is clear: lift the tariffs or risk losing more ground in global trade.
