NEW YORK – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faced a dramatic protest at the United Nations General Assembly. As he entered the hall to deliver his speech, hundreds of diplomats quietly stood up and walked out.
The protest was unusual and powerful. It sent a clear message of global disapproval over Israel’s military campaign in Gaza.

Casualties continue to mount. Five Palestinians were killed and 20 others injured while waiting for humanitarian aid. The total number of aid-related deaths has now reached 2,531.
Since mid-March, Israeli operations have killed at least 12,823 people. Nearly 55,000 others have been wounded, despite a ceasefire agreed in January.
Legal pressure on Israel is also building. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders. They face charges of war crimes. At the same time, the International Court of Justice is hearing a genocide case against Israel.
