A devastating road accident in Dera Ismail Khan has left 11 members of the same family dead after their vehicle’s brakes failed.
According to the rescue officials, the incident took place in Danasar, an area of Darazinda, when a Mazda vehicle carrying the family from Khnuzai, Balochistan to D.I. Khan lost control and crashed.
Rescue 1122 confirmed that among the deceased were five women, a child, and a man, while three others sustained injuries. The injured were given first aid at the scene before being shifted to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The authorities described the accident as one of the most tragic in recent months, highlighting the dangers of mechanical failures on long intercity routes.

According to local police officials, the incident took place when a passenger vehicle, en route to Sadda, lost control and plunged into a deep ravine while negotiating a sharp turn. The accident happened in a hilly region known for its dangerous and narrow roads, where visibility and road grip often pose serious challenges for drivers.

Rescue teams and local volunteers rushed to the scene immediately after being alerted. The injured were transported in critical condition to Sadda Hospital, where emergency treatment is being provided. The identities of the victims have not yet been officially released, but police sources confirmed that all passengers were residents of nearby villages.
Preliminary investigations suggest that overspeeding or possible brake failure may have contributed to the accident. Authorities are continuing their inquiries to determine the exact cause.
District officials expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident and offered condolences to the bereaved families. Locals have also demanded better road safety measures and improved infrastructure in the region to prevent such accidents in the future.
